Diagnosis
Testicular Adrenal Rests.
Findings
Nodular infiltration of the right and left testicles; nodules are hypoechoic relative to the normal testicular echogenicity, adjacent to the mediastinum and hypervascular on color Doppler.
Discussion
Testicular adrenal rests are present in a large percentage of normal males secondary to the common embryological development. Testicular adrenal rests hypertrophy and become manifest under the influence of adrenocorticotropic hormones. Testicular adrenal rests can be nodular or infiltrative, unilateral or bilateral, hypervascular or hypovascular, and are often near the mediastinum. Testicular adrenal rests can be seen in patients with congenital adrenal hyperplasia, Cushing syndrome and Addison disease.
